Culture eats strategy for breakfast.

I am a born again Culturalist.  I have lived all my working life attending the Church of Strategy and now I have seen the light.  One of my gurus is Simon Sinek and if you want to go from ok or good to great, google him and check out his “First Ask Why” Gospel.

I’ve always known that business is all about people yet we spend so little time focused on them.  We rather differentiation, new product development, pricing models and developing strategies and tactics that take us to the prize rostrum.  We hope.

As part of my conversion we have crafted a new purpose for pepper.  (our conversion really because the whole of pepper is drinking the same Kool-Aid)   Our purpose defines who we are and the  reason we get up every morning and come to Pepper House.  Every member of our team has been a part of developing this statement of our cause. (and I mean every member)

Our purpose is: Together and with passion, we help brands soar.

Let me tell you a little bit about this new philosophy that we are embracing.  It inspires participation.  It tells us to listen more and talk less.  It ends the blame game.  It recognises and rewards progress as people grow. It encourages random acts of kindness and asks people to fill the emotional bank accounts of others.

Now it’s not all fluff and sappy stuff.  We are all expected to own our responsibilities and be accountable.

There is still lots room for strategy under the Big Tent of the Culturalists.  One plus one makes eleven.

Keep your eye on the pepper team, as we all soar with our clients and their brands!
