A good Chinese laundry in Trinidad and Tobago.

We all learned in Marketing 101 that the right marketing mix meant that you had the right product, at the right time, at the right price, in the right place.  Do all those things while targeting the right people with the right message and you will be right on your way to brand heaven and its perks.

I’ve always said that one of the most astute marketers in T&T is Tony Chow Lin On.  I think he honed his skills during his Chinese Laundry DJ days, where observation is key to connection.  He has parlayed that knack for figuring out what people want in the nano seconds between tracks, into an entertainment empire.  And now he’s playing Rennie B at a radio near you.

Business people don’t always get it right.  Tony has struggled to define what 107.7 stands for compared to his other 2 radio properties and so many marketing gems he has produced.  But the good ones persist.  They don’t give up until they find a way.  They have another quality that normal people don’t have.  They have instinct.  They see things others around them don’t see.

Let’s see if Chow Lee’s son finally got it right at 107.7FM, by making his mentor his employee.  I would not bet against him, because Tony Chow Lin On is a good one.
